1st cut -
I used a screenshot of an establishing shot from the music video as a canvas for the whole poster. I then cut out the 2 characters from another 2 shots, ones that i thought were important in the theme of the video. As they were taken in the same location the lighting matched the background and therefore don't look out of place. I came up with the idea of the band name to be written in clouds because i thought of the "Red Arrows" writing in the sky which again fit with the theme of "Salute". I used photos of these plains from the internet, cut them out and changed the filter of them to suit the lighting in the sky of the photo. I made them smaller to create dimension and the illusion of them being high and far away. The name 'Salute' I thought would look good in the rubber stamp word art as this also fit with the theme of military. Again i had to get this off the internet and cut the background out. To give this dimension i also added a shadow effect to the font and put it at an angle like a rubber stamp would be. As it is an add for a magazine i added where you can purchase the album in the bottom corner, for exmple Itunes, Spotify and Google play. At this point there was still space to fill in.
2nd Cut-
After discussion the group decided to fill in the gaps with quotes we made up from well known music review sites. For example Pitchfork.com. This was seen as one of the codes and conventions of CD advertisements. In addition to this I added a sample of the songs that were on the album to get peoples interest and at the top of the poster i put 'The UKs best selling artists are back" to act as a dramatic introduction for the album. I added a star rating which i chose 5, this was decided through research into Little Mix's albums which are also best selling. At the bottom i also added an RRP price to give the relevant information to the target audience.
Final cut-
After feedback I creates my final cut. This was to re arrange the title "Salute" so it isn't covering the characters head.
