Filming the field scene

On this day we walked to the farm land in Hopwas where we filmed the boot camp scene. The cast included:
~Owen Sutton
~Matt Wills
~Ed Dutton
~Harry Coats
~Ellesse Tunnicliffe
~Alex Wakeling

Here we filmed a lip sync of the whole song (so the editing is much simpler) and also clips of the boys doing exercise etc to fill in the gaps. This was the first day we used the Canon DSLR camera as well as the Sony digital camera. This meant we were able to get good quality footage and we were able to understand how to use it and the quickest way to set up and pack away. As the field was so open, the natural light helped out greatly in order to make sure our images were clear. It was also out of the way of traffic and foot paths so the area was clear which made the scene look more professional as there was no unwanted people in the background.

An obstacle that we faced on this day was the 3rd girl we planned on using. We planned to start filming from 1-3 with 1-2 dedicated to the boys and 2-3 focussing on the parts with the girls. However the 3rd girl didn't arrive till 2:55 which left us in an awkward situation. We then attempted to quickly film some parts as we were under a time limit. When it came down to it the 3rd girl wasn't able to lip sync and therefore couldn't complete what we wanted her to. In the end we decided to go home and come back to it another day. Since then we made the decision to only use 2 girls and will come up with a way to film the dance scene without it looking empty with just 2. Maybe using the boys in the background or even finding a group of people to be behind. However we have decided how we will adapt the whole video to suit 2 people.
